The town of Collie arose out of a history of coalmining and today tours run through a replica underground mine and to two currently operational open cut mines. The town has retained many historical buildings including the Premier Hotel. The hotel was built in 1900 and recently restored to retain its original character.

The longest section of the Bibbulmun Track runs through the Shire of Collie. 'The Premier' offers a great starting or central point for those walking the north or south sections. The Collie Visitors Centre offers detailed information of these sites, activities and more.
